Inside a London Show Apartment Styled by West Elm
At Coppermaker Square, home is about more than just the space you live in — it’s about how that space supports your lifestyle, your routines, and the way you connect with others. That philosophy sits at the heart of our latest show apartment collaboration with West Elm, bringing together considered design, contemporary furniture, and a shared belief in a lifestyle-led approach to design.

Styled and furnished by West Elm, this show apartment explores how a shared home can balance everyday practicality with personality, shaped by life at Coppermaker Square.
The Brief: Two Lifestyles, One Home
The starting point for the design was a deliberately nuanced brief. Rather than creating a one-note show home, the apartment was imagined as being shared by two couples with very different lifestyles.
“The brief centred on two couples, one connected by their love of music and retro energy, and the other with a more corporate, tech-focused lifestyle,” the West Elm team explains. “Straight away, I knew their bedrooms had to feel like personal sanctuaries and true reflections of each couple’s identity. In the shared living areas, it was about blending both worlds seamlessly.”
Designing for Real Life

The inspiration for the apartment came directly from Coppermaker Square. The aim was to create a home that feels rooted in the place and the people who live there. As the West Elm team explains, “Coppermaker Square already has such a distinct energy — it’s about community, wellness, and modern city living — so I wanted the apartment to feel like a natural extension of that.”
From the outset, the design was shaped by how residents use their homes rather than how a show apartment should look. The space is intended to support everyday routines and moments of downtime, not just first impressions.

“For me, it was about imagining how these residents actually live day to day: busy professionals who work hard, unwind at home, and love to entertain friends,” says the West Elm team. “That’s why the space balances functionality with comfort. There’s room to relax, corners to work from home, and areas that invite social connection.”
Layering Warmth, Texture, and Contrast
In the shared living spaces, West Elm furniture plays a central role in grounding the design. Warm tones create an immediate sense of welcome, while layered textures and materials bring depth and interest.

“The living room is anchored by earthy, warm tones to instantly give that homey, welcoming vibe,” the designer notes. “From there, I layered in mixed materials and textures — soft textiles against sleek finishes, and characterful accents balanced with clean-lined essentials.”
This balance of softness and structure mirrors the dual lifestyles behind the brief, showing how different tastes can coexist without competing.
Reflecting Life at Coppermaker Square
This collaboration also is shaped by the wider Coppermaker Square neighbourhood and the energy of Stratford.

“I imagined residents who are active, curious, and social — people who value convenience but also want their home to feel like a sanctuary,” the designer shares. “That’s why the design feels both modern and welcoming, with practical solutions for everyday life but also those little touches of personality and artistry that make it memorable. In a way, the apartment mirrors Stratford itself: a place where different styles and cultures meet, and somehow, it just works.”
