Resident spotlight: Meet Phil and Kelly Horton

A buzzing community with pet-friendly living ticked all the boxes for new parents and their pup. Find out why Westfield’s Coppermaker Square was the right choice for project manager, Phil, and his wife Kelly, 32, along with their one-month-old baby boy and Cavapoo.

Why did you choose Coppermaker Square?

“The standard at Coppermaker Square is exceptional and we were able to get an additional bedroom to what we’d be paying elsewhere in East London” says Phil.  “I’ve also got the option to use the shared co-working space when working from home too. What I love about it is it gets some really lovely natural lighting in there and it’s just such a stylish setting with all the amenities I need for my workday.” says Phil.

“But the spa and the pool area is the stand-out piece for me. You wouldn’t get the quality anywhere else, and the gym is so much bigger than at other developments we’d looked at. There’s even a full fitness class schedule which is awesome!” Phil added.

What drew you to Stratford as a location for your family?

“I moved to East London about five years ago and the main reason initially was because of the amazing transport links,” says Phil. “You can get pretty much get anywhere with so many Tube and Rail lines which is super convenient, but at the same time, there’s so much going on in Stratford which I love. You can see how popular the area is because there are lots of new developments and businesses cropping up, which is great for the local economy.”

What else did you consider before moving?

“Finding somewhere to live with a sociable community feel was important to us moving back to the UK. Coppermaker Square has a packed schedule of resident events and there’s a growing dog owner community – we know we wouldn’t get anything like this renting privately in London” says Phil Horton, 34.

“Coming from the US originally, I don’t know many people in London. It was important for me to find somewhere to live where I can meet people and make friends in the local area” says Kelly. “At Coppermaker Square, I’ve already been able to meet so many other residents without even leaving the building, which makes things 10x easier, especially with a baby!” she continued.
